Aarhus University is undergoing a major organizational change. A number of people (university staff) have been elected by the dean to come up with their suggestion to a new structure of the faculty of ARTS. The process of implementation is described at the faculty’s website.
The reports from the groups are now available are available here. Everything is in Danish. As it is, the suggestions will affect the future of DARC, and the workplace of many of our members. Therefore, I call for a meeting where we can air our opinions and prepare ourselves for the ‘café meeting’ on June 23. If we have an opinion (pro/contra) we need to visible.
The agenda is:
- Søren will present how the reports were received by the Academic Council
- Discussion: How do we read the reports? How should we respond?
… I suggest we focus on the taxonomy for research centers and the organization of research units/programs.
NB! Consensus is not an aim at the meeting, but it is interesting to hear what is being said at the different departments and at Academic Council. DARC can be our platform to discuss how the suggestions will affect our status as a research center, and how we should respond to them.
